On the morning of September 29, 2024, Zhongda Yuantong Cable, a core member of the high-end manufacturing sector under the “One Body, Two Wings” strategy of the Zhongda Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its project aimed at producing 500,000 kilometers of specialty cables annually. The event was attended by key leaders, including Chen Rugen, Secretary of the Linping District Party Committee; Zhou Xuyin, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and District Governor; Chen Xin, Chairman and Party Secretary of Zhongda Group; and Luo Chang, Vice President and Party Committee Member.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Yang Zhaowen, Chairman of the company, spoke on behalf of the project owner, expressing his gratitude for the strong support and close attention from the Linping District Party Committee and government. He stated that since Zhongda Yuantong Cable officially settled in Linping District in 2005, it has embarked on a period of rapid growth in production and manufacturing. From initial revenues of less than 100 million yuan, the company achieved over 9.5 billion yuan in revenue by 2023, establishing itself as a benchmark for rapid development in China’s cable industry.

The new project will strictly adhere to the instructions and requirements of Chairman Chen Xin and Secretary Chen Rugen, aiming to be completed within two years with high quality and efficiency. From 2027, it will gradually begin production capacity, with an expected annual output value of 8 billion yuan upon full production. This will make the company one of the largest intelligent manufacturing enterprises in Linping District and a model of smart manufacturing within the group’s high-end manufacturing segment.

Chen Rugen, Secretary of the Linping District Party Committee, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Party Committee and government for Zhongda Group’s long-term support for Linping’s economic and social development. He emphasized that in recent years, Linping has been working to strengthen industrial support and activate innovation momentum by promoting the integration of digital and real economies, helping traditional enterprises to upgrade and nurturing new productive forces. Linping District will fully coordinate the project implementation, ensure smooth construction progress, and strive for early project completion, operation, and effectiveness. Upholding the principle of “treating enterprises like family,” the district aims to strengthen the platform for coordinated economic development, partnering with companies to create a new chapter in building a high-quality "Digital Linping, Quality District."

More than 120 representatives attended the groundbreaking event, including leaders from the relevant departments of Zhongda Group’s headquarters, the Linping District government, Zhongda Industrial, Zhongda Yuantong Cable, as well as representatives from the design and construction teams.

The Zhongda Yuantong Cable "Specialized, Sophisticated, Advanced" Specialty Cable Intelligent Manufacturing and Green High-End New Material R&D and Industrialization Project covers an area of 144 mu (about 9.6 hectares) with a total investment of approximately 1.2 billion yuan. Upon reaching full production capacity, it will achieve an annual output of 500,000 kilometers of cable. The project includes a high-end industrial base integrating specialty cable production, green high-end new material technology R&D, and intelligent warehousing and logistics. It aims to establish high-level technology and innovation platforms, including a National Engineering Research Center, National Enterprise Technology Center, National Key Laboratory, and a Provincial-Level Future Factory. This initiative will accelerate the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, contributing to the high-quality development of manufacturing in Zhejiang.
